Allotment raspberries

A little sun and out they come......

Although its not been a great year so far on the allotment – the greenhouses have not received enough heat, principally, the fruit has liked the more cooler, damper weather.

This morning I walked between the cool avenue of the raspberry canes, now 6′ tall and dripping with warm globules of red fruit.

As I walk down the space between the two rows of canes, cool drops of rainwater dislodge from the leaves and gently soak into my shirt.

I pick 4 lbs of raspberries and leave twice that still ripening on the canes.
