Lake District Pike o’Blisco

I thought it would be good to show the story of one of our days.  In this case we were climbing Pike o’Blisco at the head of the Langdale Valley.  We started with the view of our objective from the car park of the Old Dungeon Ghyll car park

The boys set a cracking pace as you can see; they never wait for the photographer!

Po’B is 705 metres, so approx. 2200′, so its a steady climb.  In Langdale we are surrounded by fells that tempt you to try something else, especially when you arrive at the col with a choice of left for Po’B, or turn right to do the Crincle Crags.

We had a brief stop here and then pressed on to the summit, which is a steep climb but well rewarded by some splendid views.

It was a glorious weekend with good friends and fine beer and food.  I hope you enjoyed the trip!!

  1. I love the Lakes, you should also venture over to the Dales. The three small peaks there make great walks, especially Ingleborough. Also watching Falcons in the afternoon swooping around Malham cove is fantastic!

    • Yes we did the 3 peaks ( in 3 days, I hasten to add) a couple of years ago, I’ll post a couple of pictures for you later.
