Lake District Panorama, Bowscale Tarn

September sees the 2nd of our two weekends away – male bonding is SO important these days.  We’ve been doing this for ten years now and in that time, we have been rained on twice.  Not bad going for such a rainy part of the country.  On Friday our walk was to climb Bowscale Fell, via its very lovely tarn.  Here we sat and lunched in complete silence and solitude.  The wind occasionally chased over the surface of the tarn spreading silver  droplets before us.  Unfortunately the steep green bit in front of Bills nose was our ascent onto the top and the silence was broken by much creaking of knees and gasping for breath…….
