As we achieved the top of the climb onto the summit sloped of Bowscale Fell, we noticed dark clouds had gathered whilst we had been climbing. From our vantage point we could see blue sky and sunny patches on the ground in the distance, so we hoped they would simply blow away. However, the wind told us it was bringing them our way. I took this forbidding line of cloud, four pictures, and 3 minutes later, it swept over us, drenching us down one side only and then it was gone and in a moment was soaking the rear slopes of Skiddaw.
