Lake District weekend, another panorama

After Friday’s success, Saturday was set to be a slight disappointment in that we didn’t summit Skiddaw, but nevertheless we were blessed with glorious weather and spectacular views.  We climbed the long ridge which takes in three ‘Wainwrights” culminating at Carl Side.

This pan of Bassenthwaite Lake – the only “lake” in the Lake District – comprised 6 photos blended for the pan.  From Carl Side we descended via Dodd, before a quite hard descent down an uncompromising forestry road to the pub where we sat, bathed in beer – oops, sorry, bathed in sunshine whilst we drank beer……
