2012 Grand Tour, Turin, Museo Egizio

Back to the Egypt Museum, which turned out to be quite a find.  It contains the remains of two complete tombs and includes statues of Rameses II, his queen, Nefertiti and the goddess Sakhmet.  The museum part is cleverly and sensitively achieved with clever displays showing the Russian doll aspect of a mummy, together with several important pieces of linen, model boats and other artefacts.

The display area of the statues themselves is stunning, but no flash photography is allowed so I had to be very attentive to my exposures and timing.  The Museo is just off the main piazza in Turin and is definitely worth a visit.
