2012 Grand Tour Caio! Livorno

In the end Livorno offered us a relaxed insight into Italy.  We found a  wonderful   cheap pizza place with orange tables, fine pizzas and cheap beer. We wandered its streets and looked at its markets, browsed its architecture, sat in its bar drinking its coffee.

Here are a  last few pictures of Livorno.

On the last day we drove back to Turin.  It was a Sunday and in the middle of the Fiera.  Turin was like a ghost town; everyone on holiday, most of the shops all closed and shuttered.  It was a quiet last day in Italy and we could stroll the streets in peace.

The following morning the TGV was late by 45 minutes and we wondered if this would be a last hitch in our holiday, which would throw our homeward journey into chaos.  But no, we arrived back at Paris Nord just in time to check in for our homeward leg to England.

So that was our Grand Tour. I would like to thank the many people who have liked the blog and who have started following me.  I have still to visit some of your own sites which I will do over the holiday period.

In the new year I have an exciting new project in mind and I hope you will still keep supporting wordpress and following my efforts to match some of the excellent blogs in the community.

In the meantime I would like to wish everyone a happy festive season whatever your persuasion. Keep looking after each other.
