Lake District Weekend, Lingmoor Fell

The second of the weekends away took place in September and we were once again, blessed with good weather on Friday and Saturday.  Sunday unfortunately, we were rained off comprehensively and ended up ‘ beer shopping’ in Booths supermarket in Windermere…

On Friday we climbed Lingmoor Fell, which we have done before, but its a pleasant walk, which rewards you with splendid views once the summit is achieved.

Here are a couple of pictures en route to a panorama which will be in the next post.

Lingmoor Fell still has an active slate quarry at its foot, but years ago, these were sited farther up the slopes to make them nearer to the many wall building activities which took place then.
