The Reichstag in Berlin must be one of the most photogenic buildings on Earth (oops, BIG statement there!!).

We went a few years ago, for a city break and were blown away by the city, its culture and most of all its history.  I can do a further post on Berlin I guess soon. Whilst its sometimes difficult to talk about an unsavoury past such as The Holocaust, Berlin ( and therefore Germany) has tackled it head on. There are a number of historic sites now , either retained or built as memorials and it does Berlin great credit that it can stand alongside there things and acknowledge the past.  The Reichstag of course was burned in 1933 as part of a plan to install Hitler as leader.  The new dome was built by Sir Norman Foster and whilst its a complete “chalk and cheese” to the building on which it stands, it works, in my opinion.

Anyway, here’s why…
