2014 Manchester Salford Quays – IWM

My day out on the Quays covered the Imperial War Museum (North).  This stunning building, designed by Daniel Liebeskind, sits opposite the Lowry complex and represents the world shattered into 3 pieces by war.

Inside, the display hall is a large central area, but what I don’t like about it is the fact that every so often, it ‘closes down’ for a sound and light presentation.  I don’t like it because I like to go at my own pace in these places, rather than be ‘scripted’ too much.

Nevertheless its a worthwhile half day, particularly if you go mid week and go up to the viewing tower, when there are no queues.

Here you go.  Click on the first picture to start the gallery.
